On June 23, 2016, Britain held a referendum on whether to leave the European Union (EU), of which it was joined in 1973, and the majority of the population voted to leave (51.9% versus 48.1%).There is a plethora of articles discussing the ramifications of this vote. While most articles forecast the British economy to suffer in the short and medium term, no articles have pointed out the opportunity for lawyers is greater than ever due to the number of agreements that will have to be negotiated. As disruptive as this referendum is, eventually this vote will be viewed as the "job security act" for lawyers.
